The Mashantucket Pequots -- with their credit line maxed out -- are trying to renegotiate $2.3 billion worth of debt to avoid default. The debt restructuring would not affect the daily operations of the tribe's Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, according to their plan. The tribe runs the risk of defaulting on a $700 million line of credit on Monday.
