Ohio city gets the ball rolling on algae-to-fuel venture

The City Council of Youngstown, Ohio, on Wednesday unanimously voted to approve a bill allowing the local board of control to begin talks for a 30-year property-lease agreement with M&J Development on a proposed $2.5 million algae-to-fuel plant. Youngstown officials said M&J plans to build algae ponds and a facility to demonstrate the algae-based biofuel technology.
