Experts: Go beyond biometric testing to see wellness success

Wellness experts say employer-based wellness programs get stuck because they do not go beyond biometrics screening and poorly targeted initiatives to address the whole person, including behavioral and career well-being. Nationwide Insurance, Heartland Health and Cerner Corp. all have moved beyond initial testing in their wellness programs to engage employees and families in adopting healthy behaviors, focus on outcomes and offer valued incentives for participation.
