FDA explores medtech applications for 3D technology

The FDA's Office of Science and Engineering Laboratories is looking into how 3D printing may eventually influence medical device production, write experts Steven Pollack and James Coburn. "What we're discovering will be valuable to our reviews of devices down the road; it will help us to develop standards and set parameters for scale, materials, and other critical aspects that contribute to product safety and innovation," they write.
