Medtronic reports first patient in Ariz. to receive neurostimulator

A patient at the Center for Pain and Supportive Care in Arizona became the first in the state to receive the SureScan MRI spinal-cord stimulation device from Medtronic. The device, approved this year by the FDA for treating chronic pain, works by sending electrical pulses to disrupt the pain signals before they reach the brain.
