Chief marketing officers in the IT industry now have money and responsibility in pushing tech sales ahead, but success lies in taking a leadership role and change from serving as a marketing arm, Eric Lundquist writes. "CMO must become a knowledgeable source for what customers want, the services and support required to wrap around those products and having the voice and authority to stop errant corporate strategies in their tracks," Lundquist writes.
