Study: Having more brokers is key to lower health insurance costs

Small companies in counties with high numbers of brokers are 20% more likely to offer their employees health insurance than are those in counties with the fewest brokers, according to a report from the National Bureau of Economic Research. Average premiums were 13% less in counties with the most brokers, the report said.
