Maryland schools ease cell-phone restrictions

Montgomery County middle-school students will be allowed to carry cell phones, but keep them out of sight, without violating school policies after students and parents protested. "We were enforcing a well-intentioned policy that was out of step with modern realities," said middle-school principal Joseph Sacco.
