Monsanto collaborates with ADM, Deere for crop-residue study

Monsanto Co. has partnered with Archer Daniels Midland Co. and Deere & Co. to find new methods to harvest, store and transport corn stover -- such as stalks and leaves -- for use as animal feed, biomass and cellulosic feedstock for biofuel production. The research is expected to benefit farmers by helping them produce more products without cultivating more acres, the companies said.
