$950M in construction projects approved for Duke Hospital

A new cancer center and patient tower at Duke Hospital has received approval from North Carolina regulators. Officials with Duke University Health System, which owns the hospital, hope to open the cancer center, which will cost $250 million, in 2012. The $700 million, eight-story patient tower is expected to open in 2013. The projects are expected to create 1,500 jobs.
