Insurance fraud on increase

The Washington-based Coalition Against Insurance Fraud warns consumers that fraud -- from staged auto accidents, crooked agents, false medical claims and other sources -- is increasing. The group said most insurers are ethical and honest, but it said it was seeing an increase in the number of agents who collect premiums "then issue fake insurance policies to create the illusion that the client has coverage." Insurance fraud increases insurance costs for all.
