UOP signs deal with Chinese firm to provide propylene technology

Honeywell's UOP will provide production technology for a propane-dehydrogenation unit for Zhejiang Julong Petrochemical in China under a recently signed contract. Under the agreement, UOP will provide technical service, personnel training, technology licensing and design to build the project. The technology is set to begin operation by 2013 and is expected to produce more than 496,000 tons of propylene per year.
