Many of the benefits of growing old in the U.S. are routinely overlooked or considered problems when they could just as easily be viewed as good news, Philip Moeller writes. Baby boomers have significant spending power and are motivated to stay active in a way that will keep them in the materialistic mainstream, he writes, and consumer-products companies are making changes to attract their dollars.
