South Carolina residents face soaring insurance rates

Soaring property insurance rates in South Carolina are forcing some residents to consider leaving their homes. Higher rates could also force businesses to pass on added costs to consumers. South Carolina Director of Insurance Eleanor Kitzman said growth along the state's coast has tightened the market for insurance, and she added that many insurance companies fear another disaster like Hurricane Katrina.
