Study: Hypnosis may aid breast cancer surgery patients

Hypnosis prior to breast cancer surgery may ease pain during and after the operation, according to a study. Researchers randomly assigned 200 breast cancer patients to a hypnotist or a psychologist prior to their surgery and found those who saw the hypnotist required less anesthesia during surgery and reported less pain, fatigue, emotional upset and nausea after surgery.
