Lean manufacturing isn't just for the big boys

Lean manufacturing strategies are all the rage among the world's industrial giants -- but they're easy for small companies to implement, too. Implementation can be tricky for companies that can't afford dedicated training programs, says consultant Rick Bohan, but it's easy enough to phase in lean strategies gradually simply by focusing more clearly on your customers' needs. "My sense is there's a world of opportunity out there," Bohan adds.
