Century-old Denver school hopes to achieve "net zero" by 2030

The Emerson School in Denver, built in 1885 and expanded in 1917, is being retrofitted to meet the Green Building Council's LEED certification standards. The $2.1 million project is expected to help the school achieve its goal of reaching "net zero" energy consumption by 2030.
