CMS to require enrollment revalidation among health providers

The CMS announced it will send revalidation requests by mail to more than 1.4 million health care providers in an effort to address Medicare fraud. Those who receive the notice will be given 60 days to reaffirm their enrollment information. Failure to do so may have their Medicare billing privileges deactivated, the agency said. Groups such as the American Medical Association are concerned about the potential for enrollment backlogs.
