Verizon is said to prep Droid Prime for "Ice Cream Sandwich" debut

Verizon Wireless thinks Samsung's Droid Prime phone, the first equipped with Android 4.0 software -- also known as Ice Cream Sandwich -- will compete more effectively with Apple's next iPhone than the Galaxy S II, according to an Internet report, which says the carrier will launch the Droid Prime in October. Verizon's major rivals are expected to announce their plans for the Galaxy S II at a media event today.
