Md. district considers adding foreign languages to elementary schools

Maryland's Howard County school district is considering a foreign language program for elementary school students. The state's winning Race to the Top federal-funding proposal included the potential to expand foreign languages taught in its schools, including Arabic and Chinese. A committee will review the matter and report in February to the school board.
