Diet outdoes exercise in curbing type 2 diabetes, but combo is best

Data on more than 400 sedentary and overweight postmenopausal women found that those who followed a dietary weight-loss program had better insulin response and lost more weight compared with those who used an aerobic exercise program alone. However, a combination of diet and exercise worked best for weight loss and insulin and blood glucose control, according to the study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
