More than higher pay and better benefits, employees really want to be treated with respect, Jeff Haden writes. Even if employees are not the best or brightest, being respectful to them as an employer can improve relationships and performance. Making an employee feel stupid or inadequate won't teach them to learn from mistakes, and only fosters resentment, Haden writes.
