NIH grant will get to heart of the matter at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

A five-year, $1.94 million grant from the NIH will go toward efforts to develop therapies for cardiac muscle damage at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. Researchers are looking at using biopolymer microthreads to transport stem cells to damaged hearts and encourage muscle regeneration.
