Study: MPI with CT, CTA improves CAD diagnosis

A study on patients with suspected coronary artery disease found that using myocardial perfusion imaging along with CT and CT angiography improved accuracy, specificity and positive predictive value when diagnosing the disease compared with using MPI alone. "The combined anatomical and perfusional information may provide an incremental diagnostic value, mostly in patients with high coronary calcification and stents," a researcher said.
