Dot-Com Retailers See Online Sales Climb

According to eMarketer's recent Online Selling and eCRM report, nine of the leading publicly traded Internet retailers pulled in revenues of $8.99 billion during 2003, a 42.2% increase over their collective $6.32 billion in revenues from 2002. Amazon.com continues to be the online behemoth, raking in $5.26 billion to account for 58% of this group's total sales last year. In separate profiles of each retailer, eMarketer has found that many are continuing to focus on revenue growth through the acquisition of new customers, with several planning to increase spending on television and radio advertising.
