Study: Single-serve packages can be misleading

Many single-serve packages weigh more than their labels indicate, which could make it difficult for dieters and diabetics to control their portions, a USDA study finds. Toasted grain cereals with supplements, according to the study, are sometimes 72% heavier than their labels suggest. "We take a number of steps to minimize overage because that would add costs to our business," a Kellogg spokeswoman said.
