Contract with firm said to have vetted journalists canceled by military

A contract between the U.S. military and a private company in Washington, D.C., hired to evaluate reporters based on their "positive," "negative" or "neutral" war coverage, has been terminated, according to this report. That development came in the wake of news reports that public affairs officers in the military used research on journalists from The Rendon Group as a factor in determining whether they would be allowed to "embed" with forces on the front lines in Afghanistan.
