Report: Subscriptions beat transactions in VOD

When it comes to video on demand, consumers prefer subscription-based services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix to transactional VOD, according to a report from Parks Associates. The market-research firm found that during a six-month period, U.S. consumers using video subscription services spent an average of about $50 on those services, while those ordering individual videos spent less than half that.
