Veterinarian shares reasons to neuter dogs

Most male dogs that aren't neutered typically display unwanted behaviors including marking with urine, mounting, roaming and aggression toward other dogs, which makes it much harder to socialize them with other dogs, says veterinarian Cherri Trusheim. Castration addresses these behaviors about half of the time, regardless of how long they've been going on, she says.
