Brooklyn rooftop farm grows 30 crops

A 6,000-square-foot rooftop farm in Brooklyn yielded a harvest of more than 30 different crops in its first season. Farmer Annie Novak, former E-Trade marketing manager Ben Flanner and the founders of Goode Greene, which creates green roofs in urban areas, teamed up to build Rooftop Farms. The founders of the project say it brings the community closer together, decreases storm water runoff and reduces sewer overflow in the area.
