France proposes 3 options for limiting bankers' bonuses

The French government wants leaders from the Group of 20 to discuss their proposals for reining in bankers' bonuses at their summit this month in the US. The proposals include limiting bonuses to a share of profits, a targeted tax and a simple limit on the value of bonuses. French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde will explain the proposals at a meeting of her peers from the G-20 this week in London.
