Faculty shortage holds back nursing schools, experts say

A shortage of faculty means many potential nursing students are turned away each year, and colleges and universities cannot graduate more nurses with advanced practice degrees, nursing education experts said. Pay for teaching can be lower than other nursing work. University of Michigan professor Beatrice Kalisch said she took a 50% pay cut when she returned to teaching from consulting.
