South Korea becomes plastic surgery hot spot for innovation

Plastic surgery is increasingly commonplace for men and women in South Korea, with estimates that at least 75% of Koreans ages 18 to 30 have undergone some type of procedure. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has invited South Korean surgeons to talk about their advanced technology during an October conference, and plastic surgeon David Song, chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Chicago, said while there are more than 7,000 board-certified plastic surgeons in the U.S., there are more than 25,000 in South Korea.
