Treatment guidelines of stable CAD, CVD with diabetes aired at ESC

New guidelines for the treatment of stable coronary artery disease and management of patients who have cardiovascular disease and either diabetes or prediabetes were presented at the European Society of Cardiology meeting. Among the changes are a heightened reliance on pre-test probabilities for patients with stable CAD, while continuing to base the PTP on patient age, sex and angina characteristics, said Dr. Udo Sechtem of Germany, who presented the guidelines.
