Cellphones, e-readers, tablets and other devices are becoming permanent fixtures in some schools that have adopted bring-your-own-technology policies. In the Columbia County School System in Georgia, educators are allowing students to use mobile devices to learn about language arts, science and math. Schools also are using Remind 101, which allows educators to send text-message reminders about homework and other tasks.
