The Mayo Clinic and Northern Arizona University have collaborated to study whether a teleconcussion robot can help specialists produce neurological assessments that are as accurate as an in-person evaluation. During the study, a Mayo Clinic neurologist will remotely control the robot to examine NAU athletes who have suspected concussions at football games. The study could help address the need for concussion specialists on the sidelines of college football games, said Ramogi Huma, executive director of the National College Players Association.
