SPECT/CT system from Siemens gains FDA clearance

The FDA has cleared Siemens Healthcare to market its Symbia Intevo SPECT/CT system, which was introduced in June at the annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. The technology yields quantitative and high-resolution SPECT images and includes features designed to cut CT radiation dose by as much as 68%, the company said.
