Bill to regulate payments, gifts to doctors

A bill has been introduced in the Senate that would require drugmakers and medical device manufacturers to disclose publicly all payments and gifts to doctors. The move is in response to growing concerns over patients' safety and increasing health care costs due to the prescribing of expensive drugs and devices by doctors who often receive free meals and consulting payments.
