Ericsson completes buyout of Microsoft's IPTV video business

Ericsson has finalized its acquisition of Microsoft Mediaroom -- one of the world's most dominant Internet television platforms, with a footprint that includes 13 million homes. The business, which will be renamed Ericsson Mediaroom, comes with a customer list that includes AT&T U-verse, Deutsche Telekom and Telefonica, and will spearhead Ericsson's push into multiscreen entertainment.
