Organic fruit and veggie sales rose 13% last year

Sales of organic fresh produce increased 13% in 2012 amid an improving economy, and organic accounted for slightly more than 10% of all U.S. fruit and vegetable sales, up from 6% in 2006 and 2% in 1998, according to the Organic Trade Association. Fresh produce accounts for a bit more than one-third of all organic food sales.
