France's bonus stance threatens investment-banking sector

Finance ministers and central bankers from the Group of 20 nations agreed to guidelines for bankers' bonuses but did not aim to limit how much can be paid to an individual. The French government, however, said it will move forward with plans to limit bankers' compensation. The move threatens the country's investment-banking industry, with top traders and others expected to move to non-French banks.
