Researchers map contours of protein that blocks antibiotics

An international group of researchers has mapped the structure of the New Delhi metallo beta lactamase, a protein that can make bacteria resistant to antibiotics. The finding could allow the development of drugs that are immune to NDM-1 or that can fight it off, researchers say.
