New rocket fuel tank succeeds in tests

Northrop Grumman Corp. and NASA say tests of a new composite rocket fuel tank built to hold liquid hydrogen at extremely cold temperatures have gone well, possibly positioning Northrop to win more of NASA's future space exploration contracts. "Northrop's tank was highly successful. We're very excited for what it means for composite tanks and composite structures in general," one NASA official said.
