Ralphs uses technology to improve checkout wait time

Ralphs is installing technology to reduce checkout wait time. QueVision uses infrared cameras to track body heat to determine the number of people in a store. Based on the result, workers are deployed to cash registers. QueVision has reduced Ralphs' wait time from the national average of 4 minutes to about 30 seconds, a spokeswoman says.
