Study: Regulatory changes to cut into bank profitability

A report by JPMorgan Chase estimates that regulatory crackdown in Europe and the U.S. will substantially reduce investment banks' profitability. The study takes into account stricter capital requirements for banks and a drive to move over-the-counter derivatives onto exchanges. The study says reduced profitability will force investment banks to lower compensation and bonuses.
