Insurer backs game for young cancer patients to fight back

Health insurer Cigna is backing the distribution of a mobile application known as Re-Mission 2, a revamped version of a video game that puts young cancer patients inside a virtual body to fight cancer with chemotherapy, antibiotics and the immune system. The game was developed by the nonprofit HopeLab. Genentech's foundation is funding development of a version for pediatric cancer institutes.
