Ohio fights recycled glass shortage with more drop-off locations, incentives

Ohio is trying to boost glass recycling among residents as 90% of container glass is sent to landfills and demand for recycled glass from manufacturers is growing. "What we recognize in Ohio is that we have major manufacturers who are in need of glass, so this is an economic issue, a retaining jobs kind of issue," said Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's Terrie TerMeer, who added that the state is adding more drop-off centers and giving bars and restaurants incentives to recycle their glass.
