Google to store user data for nine months, instead of 18

Google, reportedly in response to privacy concerns raised by EU regulators, will store IP addresses and personal data gleaned from users' meanderings on the Web, for nine months, instead of its current 18-month policy. In a related move, data used to recommend search terms to users under the Google Suggest system will be deleted by the Web giant after 24 hours.
