Health providers urge primary care focus in reform

Health professionals say health care reform must include incentives to increase the number of primary care providers, including nurse practitioners. NP Carolyn Patton, who works at the East Texas Community Health Center in Nacogdoches, says NPs can play an important role in filling the gap left by a shortage of primary care physicians.
