Michigan hopes to transform into green manufacturing center

General Motors last month opened a plant in Michigan that will build electric car batteries. The plant will create only 100 jobs, but observers say it is an important step toward replacing traditional manufacturing jobs with "green" manufacturing jobs. Meanwhile, Gov.
